Florida Water Star Technical Manual

Indoor criteria

General efficiency practices

Indoor code compliance

Indoor uses must comply with Florida Building Code — Plumbing, which reflects water use requirements established by the Energy Policy Act of 1992 (EPAct 1992). In some cases, county and municipal codes may provide additional requirements.

Requirements and certification

The project must be in compliance with all state, county and municipal codes. The submittal of the certificate of occupancy (CO) must be made prior to final inspection. The Inspector must submit the CO via e-Certification.

Program tip

For regions where Florida Water Star is mandatory, the CO is often generated after submittal of the program certification. Under these circumstances, the CO is not required prior to the inspection and certification. The Inspector should submit via e-Certification an alternate document to explain why the CO is not available.
